A Summer Day in Plantersville
This picture was taken in the summer of 1948 in my grandmother's front yard in Plantersville.
The George Morris family from Texas was visiting. George Morris was the son of my grandmother's brother who migrated to Texas when he was a teenager.
From left: Rea Morris, with whom I am in e-mail contact; Rea doesn't remember this visit; his brother whose name I'm not certain about, will have to research, he might be a George Morris too; Sarchie, his sister and one of only four women I know with the name Sarchie; named, obviously, after my grandmother and Mrs. George Morris; the sister leaning over is Wanda, I think.
George Morris was also the name of my grandmother's father whose picture I'm looking at as I write this.
