1956 Annual Staff
This staff produced the last annual as a high school. After 1956 Plantersville High School dissolved; some went to Shannon, some to Nettleton and some to Tupelo. In 1957 did Plantersville school go to the 8th grade or the 9th? I don't remember.

Tim Harris
Tim died in Colorado on August 19, 2003, and was buried at Plantersville. Tim and his wife, Nelda, operated a bed and breakfast in Fruita, Colorado. It was Tim's determination to stay in touch with former classmates and friends that caused us to get together and led to our publishing a newsletter and recently this Web site. I miss his telephone calls and had become used to seeing him at least once a year.

Hoyle Phillips
While attending a conference in San Francisco in February of 2005, Carole met a young lady from Georgia, and in their discussions Carole mentioned marrying a man from Plantersville. The young lady replied that her grandfather had lived there and taught and coached at the school.
Her grandfather was the late Hoyle Phillips, and in 2005, his wife was still living. I remember Mr. Phillips and think he lived across the street from us. He used to quiz me and Butch on our knowledge of baseball.

Roger McDaniel
One of my friends who lived in the same neighborhood here in Clinton used to talk about her next door neighbors the McDaniels. My friend was a widow and the man next door used to mow her yard and help her take care of her property. I heard others talk about Roger McDaniel, but I never met him. After he died, James Kelly shared his 1951 Plantersville annual with me, and there was a picture of Mr. McDaniel, a science teacher at Plantersville School. His first wife had passed away, and he had only been married to his second wife for ten or so years, but I showed her the annual, and she remembered him talking about Plantersville and especially Mr. Gooch, who she said he always admired.
Do any of you remember Roger McDaniel?

Price Harris, Music Evangelist
When I lived east of Plantersville, Price was one of my closest neighbors, only about a half mile away. Price's Uncle Fieldon married my Aunt Johnnie.
I remember Price's parents taking us to the fairgrounds in Tupelo to attend performances by quartets such as The Statesmen and The Blackwood Brothers. Price's early interest in music has led him into music evangelism. To learn more about Price, to check his performance schedule, to see pictures of his family and to hear him sing, go to his Web site:
