Bridget Mannix came to America ca. 1850 and met and married Joseph Kelly with whom she had attended school in Ireland. They settled near where the Tombigbee State Park is now.

Will, I think I am correct, served two terms as sheriff of Lee County.
Note: Someone sent me a copy of Will Kelly's obituary dated Feb. 27, 1952; he served as sheriff of Lee County from 1904-1908 and from 1932-1936; his son, Roman, was the long time clerk for the Mississippi House of Representatives.
Note: Joseph Kelly and my g-grandfather Michael Marion Kelly were brothers who lived next to one another. They had a sister and another brother, neither of whom had children.
