As I recall, work on Highway 6 was in progress during my junior and senior years in high school, which would be 1956-58; can anyone verify these dates.
I remember a bad wreck on the new highway when I was in college. The man, who was an office supply salesman, I think, was talking to us; someone put a blanket around him and he seemed okay, but died later at the hospital.

If it's the same "wreck" I remember, my sister and brother Jerianne and Paul Monts were playing outside and saw it happen. I believe Richard Swink, who is Winnie Ballard's nephew, was with them. I'm also pretty sure that Mr.Fred Morgan, Marlin's dad, was involved in the accident.
